When wine means hospitality

Some awards bring great satisfaction. Others mean something more, because they tell a story that feels deeply connected to who you are.
For us, receiving the Vignaiuolo Nuovo Award during the 100th Festa dell’Ospitalità in Bertinoro was one of those moments.
And perhaps there could not have been a more fitting occasion to celebrate wine.
Here in Romagna, wine has always been closely connected to hospitality and togetherness. When someone comes to visit, offering them a drink very often means pouring them a glass of wine.
It is a simple, spontaneous gesture. A way of saying welcome. An invitation to sit down, stay a little longer, talk and share some time together.
Wine is there at our tables, during celebrations and family gatherings, in conversations between old friends and new ones. But above all, wine brings people together.
This was also at the heart of our thank-you speech when Alice Giannetti and Giulia Coromano received the Vignaiuolo Nuovo Award on behalf of Tenuta Coromano.
The setting made the moment even more meaningful.
The Festa dell’Ospitalità, now celebrating its 100th edition, is one of Bertinoro’s most cherished traditions. For a century, it has celebrated the spirit of welcome that has made our hilltop town known as a place of hospitality.
Receiving an award dedicated to wine during a celebration dedicated to hospitality felt, to us, like two parts of the same story coming together.
The event and its protagonists also received attention beyond the celebrations themselves. Visit Bertinoro, Corriere Romagna, VideoRegione and other local media shared the story of this special 100th edition, giving visibility to our award and to the people and traditions behind it.
For us, this attention means even more because Tenuta Coromano is intentionally small.
We produce only a limited number of bottles, selecting a small part of the grapes grown in our vineyards. Our grapes are harvested by hand and carefully selected, because our aim has never been to produce large quantities.
We want our wines to remain closely connected to our family, to Bertinoro and to the land where they are born.
And this is where wine and hospitality meet once again.
Because wine truly comes to life when a bottle is opened, a glass is poured and the moment is shared with someone else.
For us, the Vignaiuolo Nuovo Award, received during the 100th Festa dell’Ospitalità, is also an invitation to continue along this path: making our wines with care, while never forgetting the most important part – sharing them.
Because here in Romagna, when we want to welcome someone, one of the most natural things we can do is pour a glass of wine and say: “Welcome.”
