Tenuta Coromano on Vino in Tour: Three Generations, One Family Story

8/20/20263 min read

Some stories are told through words. Others are passed down through generations, around a family table, through old memories and, sometimes, through a glass of wine.

Ours is one of those stories.

When Annalisa Calandrini and Vino in Tour, the Teleromagna TV programme, came to visit Tenuta Coromano, we had the opportunity to talk about our wines. But before long, the conversation became about something much bigger: family.

Because behind Tenuta Coromano there is a story spanning three generations, connecting our roots in Molise with the life of our family today.

And this time, we had two very special storytellers by our side: our grandmothers, Pasqualina and Maria.

It all begins with a family

There are family stories that almost sound as though they were written for a novel.

Ours includes two sisters and two brothers.

Pasqualina and Maria are sisters. Pasqualina, the eldest, married Francesco Coromano, while Maria married his brother Nicola.

From there, families grew, generations followed one another and memories became part of a shared history that is still very much alive at Tenuta Coromano today.

So when the cameras arrived, it felt only natural that our grandmothers should be there with us.

Alice and Giulia, Pasqualina and Maria: different generations sitting together, remembering the past, laughing about old stories and sharing a little of what being part of the Coromano family means to us.

It was perhaps the most authentic way we could have introduced our winery.

A family story hidden in our wine labels

You can even find traces of our family history in the names of some of our wines.

Cardillo takes its name from the old nickname by which the Coromano family was known in Molise, a reminder of where our family roots began.

Francesco is named after Francesco Coromano, founder of the winery and Pasqualina's husband. His name remains part of Tenuta Coromano today, not only in our memories, but on one of our bottles.

And then there is Meravigliami.

Behind its name lies another little family secret.

Hidden within it are the initials of the four children of Pasqualina and Maria: Roberto and Annalisa, the children of Pasqualina and Francesco, and Virna and Marco, the children of Maria and Nicola.

Three wines, three names and three different ways of keeping a family story alive.

Because here, even a label can hold a memory.

When Grandma goes on television...

Of course, there was another side to our day with Vino in Tour.

Pasqualina and Maria absolutely loved being on television.

What could have been an intimidating experience quickly became great fun. Between memories, laughter and the excitement of having cameras around them, our grandmothers embraced their moment in the spotlight with wonderful spontaneity.

And watching them enjoy themselves reminded us of something important.

A winery is not made only of vineyards, harvests and bottles. It is also made of the people who came before us, the stories we grew up listening to and the moments that bring generations together.

For us, this is what makes wine personal.

More than a winery to visit

Our day with Annalisa Calandrini and Vino in Tour on Teleromagna gave us the chance to look at Tenuta Coromano through different eyes.

For once, we stopped to tell the story behind what we do.

A story that begins in Molise, continues through Francesco and Nicola, lives in the memories of Pasqualina and Maria and carries on today through children and grandchildren.

We are grateful to Annalisa Calandrini, Vino in Tour and Teleromagna for giving us the opportunity to share such a personal part of our world.

And, of course, a very special thank you goes to Pasqualina and Maria, whose stories, laughter and unexpected enthusiasm for television made the day unforgettable.

If your travels bring you to our corner of Italy, come and visit Tenuta Coromano.

Come for the wine, stay for the stories, and discover the family behind every bottle.

Because at Tenuta Coromano, you are not simply visiting a winery. You are stepping into a family story.
